Guidance:
Depending on your place of departure, you will travel alone or with a group with Finnair to Kuusamo in Finland. Finnair offers this destination with a stopover in Helsinki. From Kuusamo there is a transfer to our hotel. You will enjoy guidance from our Wildpix guides and an extremely experienced local guide, where you can count on our hut knowledge, our material tips and experience on site.
Flight and Transport:
You book the flights yourself, which are not included in the price.
Accommodatie:
The group will stay in a comfortable and rustic accommodation with lots of cosiness and the typical Finnish decoration. The location is on a full board basis and equipped with single rooms, well equipped with all comforts. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

Payment:
After booking you will receive a payment request and the full amount will be paid in advance by bank transfer. This way everything is arranged and your trip is reserved, of course you will receive an invoice.
What if I have to cancel my trip?
In the event of cancellation, you must always inform us as soon as possible. Since we also have to pay cancellation costs to our partners, we must pass these on to you according to the schedule below, which are also indicated in the general terms and conditions and in the travel information that will be sent to you.

Deadlines for cancellation fees:
5 to 3 months before departure: 25% of the total fare
3 to 2 months before departure: 50% of the total fare
2 to 1 months before departure: 80% of the total fare
less than 1 month before departure: 100% of the total fare

The mysterious Finnish forests hold great secrets, but this journey will take you in search of the iconic bird species that make you dream. The fighting and mating behavior of Black Grouse and Capercaillie are impressive experiences. For the latter you will even stay overnight in the forest, a very special experience as it hardly gets dark anymore.
In addition, we have perfect opportunities for hunting ospreys and the imposing golden eagle. There are also perfect photo hides to use on open water where Cranes and Whooper Swans gather. The combination of snow and water gives unique images.
You will stay in typical Finnish luxury chalets with every comfort with full board, and you will be assisted throughout the journey by our professional guides. So go and discover Finland's iconic birds in the best possible way, and experience one of the last great European wildernesses.

WHEN IS THE BEST TRAVEL PERIOD?
We consciously offer this trip in this week if there is a good chance that we can record the mating behavior of the Black Grouse and Capercaillie. A unique moment including a night in the Finnish forests when it is light almost all day.
WHERE DO WE STAY?
In the northern part of Finland within driving distance of Kuusamo and in the middle of the beautiful and still wild nature.
WHAT DOES THE TRAVEL PLANNING LOOK LIKE?
This trip is a fixed package of 5 photo days - 7 nights
Day 1:
Early arrival and presentation
Afternoon Photo hide
Day 2:
Morning: Black Grouse
Afternoon: Cranes and Whooper Swans
Evening and night: Capercaillie
Day 3:
Morning: Capercaillie until about 8 am
Afternoon: Cranes and Whooper Swans
Day 4:
Morning: half day of rest and time for photo editing, for example
Afternoon: Osprey
Day 5:
Morning: Black Grouse
Afternoon: Osprey
Day 6:
Full day golden eagle photography
Day 7:
Departure day with possibly a morning program which depends on the flight times
We have breakfast every day between 08:00 and 09:00, lunch depends on dinner as dinner will be at 15:00 or 17:00 and this again depends on the evening program.
WHAT CAN WE ENCOUNTER?
Nature remains nature, but this week we have a full focus on black grouse, capercaillie, golden eagle, osprey, whooper swan and crane, but it is a vast wild area so we may see more.
