In Catalonia, Northern Spain, we offer you the opportunity to photograph just about all the most impressive birds of prey in Europe. Seeing the super rare Bearded Vulture land in front of your photo cabin is absolutely fantastic. In addition, dozens of griffon vultures, vultures of the monk and vultures of the vultures are fighting each other. Between the Red and Black Kites that fly by...In short, the ultimate falconry sensation. Flying images and the birds sitting quietly, you can see and photograph it all very well. As always from perfect and professional photo huts and with expert English speaking guides.
We offer this trip in a fixed formula of 4 days, of which 3 days in fixed photo huts for each different species, and 1 extra day where you can choose between a previously built hut to try again or an extra hut for a new species. The choice may depend on the weather or the species present at the time.
This gives you the biggest choice and the best chance of getting the best images.
The surroundings
We are in Northern Spain, in the Catalonia region, just above Barcelona. The region is located at the foot of the Spanish Pyrenees, ideal terrain for birds of prey. The region includes extensive grasslands and arable lands as well as light mountain peaks that herald the beginning of the Pyrenees, the natural habitat for vultures.
Since many years, several colonies of Vale Vultures have chosen their place here. They often land in large numbers in front of the huts and that alone with their wingspan of about 3m is quite an experience. Sometimes they reach a few meters from the hut and can observe them so close is really unique. With some luck there is also a Monk vulture and Egyptian vulture.
Red kite, black kite and harrier are migratory birds and only regular guests from spring to autumn.
But especially the super rare Bearded Vulture chooses this place to hunt. This bird has a very difficult life in Europe and survives only through intensive protection measures. Luckily they have an effect on this spot and can be seen regularly in front of the photo
cabin. Of course that is no guarantee, it remains a very shy and rare appearance but with some luck it often succeeds.
This should be about the most beautiful bird of prey on our planet. Seeing him the first time is really an experience. Usually he comes when all the other vultures have left the place. Its silhouette, flight and color are unmistakable. And if you can view it through camera or binoculars it is simply WAUW! What a drawing and head he has, as if drawn by an artist.

Hides
The Hides are of course all well placed and professionally built, always for 2 or maximum 3 persons. Everywhere we work from behind mirror glass and you are of course comfortable. You can work from a tripod. The guide will always take you there, you will receive the necessary guidelines and there will be agreed when you will be picked up. Of course you will be expected to strictly follow the rules of the guide. Depending on the period and the occupation you can expect fellow photographers in the cabin.
The accommodation
You can stay in a modern and well-equipped 3*** hotel with free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, hairdryer, TV set.
This package is without meals. Breakfast and coffee is always available at the hotel. For lunch or an extra meal there is a large supermarket next to the hotel. For your dinner there are many fine restaurants within walking distance.
You are in all directions at about 30-45min from the cabins.
The guide will always come to pick you up. The hotel is located in a small town so you can quickly find a shop, pharmacy, restaurant or supermarket.

Arrival the day before your first scheduled photo day
Day 1: Griffon hut 1: Bearded vulture, Griffon Vulture, Black Vulture, Egyptian vulture
Day 2: Griffon hut 2: Red kite, Black kite, Egyptian vulture, Griffon vulture, Raven
Day 3: Griffon hut 1: Bearded vulture, .... (Repetition of day 1 for extra 2nd chance)
Day 4: bird of prey hide of your choice, available species depending on season
The uniqueness of this exclusive Wildpix concept is that on day 4 you can even choose to do a number of cabins in 1 day, and that without extra cost! . So you may be able to do 2 or 3 cabins according to the offer at the time. All more chances on top photos! You won't find that offer anywhere else.
Departure is possible at the end of day 4, then there is no supplement. Departure the following day is also possible, provided that extra hotel night. Always bookable in advance!

You travel individually or in small groups of max 3 persons. On the spot you will be perfectly welcomed and guided by our colleague on the spot.
FLIGHTS AND TRANSPORT
The best connection is flying to Barcelona. From there it is best to take a rental car and at about an hour you are on site. Of course you will receive all necessary road information from us. The guide will be waiting for you on the spot.

PAYMENTS
After booking you will receive a payment request and pay the full amount in advance by bank transfer.
This way everything is arranged and your trip is reserved. You will receive an invoice.
What if I need to cancel my trip?
In case of cancellation you should always inform us as soon as possible. Since we also have to pay cancellation costs with our partners, we also have to pay a cancellation fee in some cases. This is explained in detail below, in the general terms and conditions and in the travel information that is sent to you.
