BEARS, BIRDS, MACRO, LANDSCAPE AND PHOTO HIDES DEEP IN THE
During this trip you will look for the most beautiful of Slovenian nature and that in the top spring period. From bears to butterflies, flowers and hopefully the swarm of mayflies.
There are 6 locations with photo huts, always hidden away in the woods. Where the chance of bears is maximum. You are brought to the hut with the jeep to short and the short walk is perfect for everyone.
The setting of each hut is different, from open spaces with rocks to dark forests where the light comes through very nicely.
The cabins are for 2 to 3 people and comfortably furnished. You photograph through openings without glass and there are viewing windows.
Tripod connections and rice bags are present, no tripods needed.
There are fireplaces made to the huts to evacuate the human smell as much as possible. But being very quiet remains the message!
SPECTACULAR CAVE AND CANYON PHOTOGRAPHY
During this trip you will also visit one of the most spectacular caves in Slovenia. The country houses the most beautiful caves in the world. You get the chance to photograph and the guide also takes special light for that. A unique experience, as well as the beautiful canyons that you will visit. So also the landscape photographer gets plenty of opportunities.
COMFORTABLE HIDE SESSIONS AND PERFECT COSY ACCOMODATION
You will stay in a fine typical Slovenian guest house, where you will receive a warm welcome. The food is excellent, the rooms very well cared for and spacious. A huge advantage is that the cabins are very close to the hotel, between 10 and 20 minutes, very handy.
THE HIDE SESSIONS ...
Another big advantage is that the hutsession are divided over the day and take about 5 hours. So you can have a quiet breakfast, do a morning session, have a quiet lunch and then start the afternoon session.
That usually ends at the start of the evening after which you can have a pleasant evening dinner.
THE FEEDING AND HUNTING POLICY IN SLOVENIA
The places where the photo hides are located, are feeding places for the bears. This is not only done for the benefit of the photographers. The bears in Slovenia are fed by hunters in any case, especially to keep them out of the villages. If this did not happen, they would descend from the mountains and cause problems closer to the people. In this way, the hunters manage to keep the bears in the mountains and to keep the population stable. Due to the limited but constant feed supply, the number of youngsters remains normal and the entire population also remains.
Of course, as everywhere else bears are hunted but very limited. Slovenia is proud of its population of bears and hunting is strictly regulated. They want to serve as an example of how bears and people can live together. This is in strong contrast to Romania, Italy and Croatia where bears are only viewed as a problem.
By eco tourism like this trip, Slovenia wants to show that it can be done differently and that nature can benefit from it. As always, we as Wildpix try to attach a lot of value to this.
WILDPIX TRAVEL MASTERCLASS TRAVEL
TO MAGNIFICENT SLOVENIA
AND ALSO HOME TO THE BIGGEST
POPULATION OF BROWN BEARS OF EUROPE.
After only a maximum of 2 hours of flying from Belgium or the Netherlands, you are in Slovenia, a small country between Austria and Italy. A country of which 70% is forest. There the largest population of brown bears live in Europe, perfectly in harmony with the local population. That's how 600 animals are estimated. Of these, the largest concentration, about 100 units, is active in the region where we send you.
After long research, our partners have found the perfect places where the bears come to feed. Spaces hidden deep in the beautiful forests on unlikely quiet and beautiful mountain ridges.
You can observe and photograph them from perfect photo huts with beautiful views. The bears are sometimes really close to 5-10 meters, you get goose bumps! A truly unique place in Europe with great opportunities, where we as shelter specialists can send you. Exclusively available at Wildpix!
The perfect alternative to expensive Finland.
